My Experience

I have 4 years of experience in a variety of nursing specialties and settings. Having worked medical-surgical nursing in multiple units within four different hospitals, I have firsthand knowledge of the inner workings of the healthcare system. For much of this time I served as a charge nurse and preceptor (teacher for new nurses). This means that I have seen it all, from patient emergencies and staffing concerns to researching and teaching the standards of care. As a board certified vascular access specialist (VA-BC), I currently provide nursing care for patients in every setting within the hospital. The process of obtaining adequate vascular access for my patients includes extensive chart review and collaboration with the healthcare team. This grants me exposure to a variety of disease processes and patient situations that very few other nurses are able to experience. With this inside knowledge, I can save my clients valuable time and money by educating, analyzing, and researching challenging cases through the critical eye of a nurse.
